Mani Gyenes starts in his 13th Dakar

Dakar 2023 starts on December 31, from the shores of the Red Sea, and Mani Gyenes is ready for a new adventure in the most demanding rally-raid in the world. It will be the 13th participation for the Autonet Motorcycle Team pilot in this competition, in which he already achieved the status of 'Dakar Legend'.

The route of the fourth Dakar hosted by Saudi Arabia, will take the competitors from the beaches of the Red Sea to the sands of the Arabian Gulf, in Dammam. This crossing of the country will, in fact, be a complete tour as the 14 stages will initially lead the Dakar caravan through the mountainous regions of the north-west, before heading to the extreme south-east for a three-day journey through the ocean of dunes of the Rub al-Khali, one of the largest deserts in the world.

Dakar 2023 starts on December 31, 2022, and the finish takes place on January 15, 2023, totaling close to 7,500 kilometers. More than 1,000 racers from 63 countries will be at the start of the competition.

One of them will be Mani Gyenes, the Autonet Motorcycle Team rider being one of the competitors who participated in Dakar editions on all three continents that hosted the rally: Africa, South America and Asia. In his 12 appearances, Mani reached the finish line 10 times and reached the podium 5 times in his class.

The sportsman from Satu Mare, while preparing for Dakar 2023, described what a typical year in his life looks like:

"In January I am away for almost the whole month at the Dakar, February is a month for resting. Then, from March, training and competitions begin. I go to enduro and endurocross competitions, then in July I participate in Red Bull Romaniacs, where this year I will start for the 19th time. At the beginning of the summer, the registrations for the Dakar also begin, in the fall we prepare the motorcycle and at the beginning of December I take it to France for shipping. Then come the holidays and right around Christmas, in recent years, I've had to pack up and go to Saudi Arabia" said Mani Gyenes, Autonet Motorcycle Team rider.

Colleagues and friends at Autonet wish him good luck and good health in his new adventure and look forward to welcoming him home again like a champion. In Dakar 2023, Mani is supported by Autonet Import, Varta, Motul, Ministry of Sport, FRM, Delfingen, Vectra Racing and Ford West Satu Mare.
